Welcoming A New Animal

Opening your home to a foster animal is the first step in changing a life. When a new foster arrives, they may be scared, overwhelmed, or unsure—but your patience and kindness help them feel safe and secure. By providing a calm space, a consistent routine, and plenty of love, you give them the chance to decompress and start trusting again. Your home becomes their bridge from uncertainty to a brighter future, where they can heal, grow, and prepare for their forever family.

Fear Free Shelter Program

Fear Free Shelter training gives our fosters and volunteers the tools to truly understand and support the animals in their care. By learning how to recognize stress signals, reduce fear, and build trust, fosters can create a calm, safe environment where pets can relax and show their true personalities. This not only makes the fostering experience more rewarding, but also helps animals adjust more quickly and become better prepared for adoption.

If you’re interested in fostering, we encourage you to explore Fear Free Shelter training and see how small changes can make a big difference in an animal’s journey to a forever home.

Adoption Events

Bringing your foster animal to events is one of the most powerful ways to help them find a forever home. These events give your foster a chance to be seen, interact with potential adopters, and show off their unique personality in a real-world setting. And since no one knows your foster better than you, you can share firsthand insights about their behavior, preferences, and quirks—helping adopters make a genuine connection. Your presence doesn’t just showcase the animal—it tells their story in a way no profile ever could.

Foster mentors play a vital role in setting new volunteers up for success. As a mentor, you’ll be a go-to resource for new fosters—answering questions, offering guidance, and sharing your experience to help them feel confident every step of the way. You may also assist with home checks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for each animal. Most importantly, you’ll help inspire and encourage others, showing them just how rewarding fostering can be. Your support can make all the difference in turning a first-time foster into a lifelong advocate for rescue animals.
